The International Association for Statistical Education (IASE) seeks to promote, support and improve statistical education at all levels everywhere around the world. It is the international umbrella organization for statistics education. The IASE is a section of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). It was founded in 1991 as an outgrowth of the ISI Statistical Education Committee, which had operated since 1948. Since 2002 the ISI and IASE have published the Statistics Education Research Journal. The IASE is also associated with the quadrennial International Conference on Teaching Statistics, with satellite conferences of the World Statistics Congress, and with smaller roundtable workshops.
Objectives
IASE is the international umbrella organization for statistics education. IASE fosters international cooperation, and stimulates discussion and research. It disseminates ideas, strategies, research findings, materials and information using publications, international conferences, and increasingly, this website.
In 2022 our mission was to increase inclusivity. Some of the activities we undertook to improve inclusivity were organisation of ICOTS 11 as a hybrid conference, choosing Webinar times differently to enable participation from different countries. We are also working on including different languages in our conferences and our journal, the Statistical Education Research Journal, to be able to reach out to wider statistics education community.
